195 square meters with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large kitchen and living room, private garden and fully furnished and decorated to Western standards. It is 20 minutes from downtown and 30 minutes to the international schools. It is in a quiet Chinese compound closed to car traffic, large Suguo in the compound, and very close to the Qinhuai river which has a lovely landscaped walk that goes for miles, perfect for walking, running or riding bike.
We are a European family leaving China and we have owned the house for a few years. We completely renovated it to the most luxurious western standards. It has radiant heat throughout the house and floor heating in the kitchen so the house is always warm in the winter. The radiators and water heat are run with gas so no problems ever with the electrical system. The kitchen is fully equipped with two refrigerators, a gas/electric oven, ceramic stove and complete dishes, cutlery and cooking equipment. The dining room/ living room is spacious and gets a lot of light from the renovated floor to ceiling windowed balcony.
The house has two floors. The entry is on the upper floor with 3 bedrooms (one could easily be converted to a home office), 2 bathrooms, and kitchen/living room. The lower floor has a large room we converted into a home theater with a Panasonic surround sound entertainment center and flat TV. There is a guest room and bath plus lots of closet storage space and a center area useful for storage or a home office. The bathrooms are brand-new with a Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, and a massage-jet shower in the downstairs bathroom. The garden is on the lower floor with high quality artificial grass and lovely (big!) natural trees for privacy. Our neighbors on all sides are really nice—a big consideration in this country!
We love our house and have been tremendously happy here—it would be perfect for a family or a couple who just wants some extra space for entertaining. It is truly an Expat standard housing but for a more reasonable price. You will also have an expat landlord who understands your needs and the full 24 hour support of our Chinese staff here in Nanjing for any issues.
