Hello people was thinking of organizing touch rugby in Xianlin, either looking to use an all weather footie pitch at Nanjing Normal University or a patch of grass just near the Blue Gulf Coffee house alongside Xianlin lake. Times will be 3pm on Sundays and possibly an evening in the week say 5.30pm Wednesdays an hour each time, I have a rugby ball (quite difficult to get in China!)
Touch rugby, Refers to games derived from rugby football in which players do not tackle in the traditional, highly physical way, but instead touch their opponents using their hands on any part of the body, clothing, or the ball. It is played as a safer variant of rugby, particularly in schools and junior clubs, and as an informal social sport.
Touch rugby has a number of differences from the traditional games, including its simplicity (requiring very little equipment or even goalposts), its ease of learning and the decreased likelihood of injury (almost zero contact). As a result it is a popular social game; mixed-gender and women-only games are also very popular.
The most popular, codified form of touch rugby is derived from rugby league and features two teams of six players.
